Talent Case Study: Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia

With the introduction of an online payroll system, Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia further enhanced their HR functions and the user experience by implementing the Recruitment and Performance modules from the Pulse Talent Solution.

The Organisation

Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia (RMHC WA) is a unique and special place of joy, laughter, learning
and community brought together by the bravest of children. For over 30 years, RMHC WA has helped Western Australian families with sick kids stay together, and close to the medical care they need.

The Challenge

In the past 5 years, RMHC WA has doubled in size and outgrown its payroll system. After undertaking an extensive review of their Human Resource Information System (HRIS), RMHC WA decided on a system that satisfied the majority of their needs, but also identified a need to further improve functionality, drive efficiencies and create a better user experience across the employee life cycle.

The Solution

Pulse was recommended by their payroll software partner Access Definitiv to help with RMHC’s recruitment and performance requirements. Despite initially considering an all-in-one solution, they were impressed with the functionality of Pulse Talent and found the design and benefits of the Modules outweighed the cost of other alternatives. Pulse then assisted with the review of the organisation’s manual processes to effectively implement the Recruitment and Performance Talent Modules into a best-of-breed solution in partnership with Access Definitiv.

The Result

Amongst the key outcomes has been the ability for “the right people to have the right responsibilities” for a process. In the Recruitment Module, for example, a manager can make a submission and have it approved following the appropriate steps before proceeding. It also ensures the correct information is ready to go including role budget and job description.

The ability for the portal to tailor questions to specific roles has also improved the candidate assessment process, and ease of use particularly in relation to employee performance appraisals has also been significantly enhanced. The implementation of Pulse Talent has seen a reduction in administrative time whilst delivering greater adherence to process requirements such as goal setting and reviews.

“We truly value our partnership with Pulse Software. The post implementation support has been outstanding, with enquiries actioned promptly and support needs easy to access, be it through the online resource portal or over the phone when things are a little trickier. It’s also been great to see the rollout of enhancements, which have provided some real benefit to us already.”
